Sound levels - Ion usb transfer to iTunes (Mac OS 10)

This is my first post on Audacity UG and I have a question/problem.
I recently purchased an Ion usb to Mac t/table so I could start archiving my LP collection.
I use iTunes and have on previous occasions using an old style t/table through a stereo hi-fi unit
to my mac been quite successful.
However, with the ion t/t I lose a lot of volume in replaying through iTunes on the Mac.
Does anyone know of a quick solution?

trouble with inserting a wav file into an audacity file

Hi,
I have an audacity file open that I narrated and recorded myself with audacity. I want to insert a wav file that is, I think, computer generated. I have several files a company sent me that is the audio that is used for the blind at street light intersections. There is "chirping", "cuckoo" and sentences "wait to cross the street", etc. When I insert these into my audacity file, the sounds play back too fast and the rest of the audacity file is played back at the right speed.
HELP!

One of the things you might look into is the source. If this is coming off a vinyl record? Try cleaning the grooves. I have a large collection and for years have cleaned then used Isopryl with a touch of water and 3 or 4 drops of liquid soap mixed i…
